The only difference would be the torque converter. Which may increase overall fluid capacity, but would not change the amount in the oil pan.

It's the same trans, but I've had 4.5-5L come out with my v6. The valvoline maxlife atf I use comes in 5L bottles.

The valvoline is generally cheaper, at $25/5 qts at Walmart. I've been running it for 10 years now. Just hit 370k kms and knock on wood, no slips or issues. Also keep in mind I tow a travel trailer!

Try finding a code reader that shows pending codes.

Any CEL or codes? Could be many things.

I tend to stay within 3hrs of home with my rig. Going further would be costly for fuel, as I tend to average 8-10 mpg. Wind and hills will make this worse.
