Re: Camshaft position sensor

Just did this repair on my 2005 Pathfinder with 400k kms on it. This is the first time I've replaced them. I ended up buying the Hitachi sensors through Rockauto, for about $100 for both. The Hitachi sensors matched up exactly to the sensors I pulled out of my engine. So this confirms they are OEM p...

Re: Old girl suspension woes

I did a similar job on my V6 two years ago. And my 'I did' I mean I ended up taking it to a shop for a cut and torch job due to the control arms and all bolts being so rusted in place, I couldn't do it myself. Here is the link to my story: https://www.thenissanpath.com/topic19142.html I would imagin...

Re: 2005 Pathfinder - Exhaust and other stuff

I changed out the exhaust with Walker parts. Bosal seems to no longer be available. I haven't bothered with any of the sensors yet. I have put it on the list, but the thing runs so darn good and is so quiet now, I am remiss to screw with it! Didn't bother with the cats at all, and in fact while doin...

Re: Did a drain and refill on the tranny yesterday:4.5 qts

The only difference would be the torque converter. Which may increase overall fluid capacity, but would not change the amount in the oil pan.

Re: Did a drain and refill on the tranny yesterday:4.5 qts

It's the same trans, but I've had 4.5-5L come out with my v6. The valvoline maxlife atf I use comes in 5L bottles.

Re: Castrol Transmax Import or Valvoline Import Full Syn

The valvoline is generally cheaper, at $25/5 qts at Walmart. I've been running it for 10 years now. Just hit 370k kms and knock on wood, no slips or issues. Also keep in mind I tow a travel trailer!

2005 Pathfinder - Exhaust and other stuff

Hey all, Its been a fast summer, and I've been so busy I haven't been spending much time here at the forum. 2005 Pathfinder, just clocked 360000km (224000mi). It needs an exhaust. I think I've settled on the standard walker replacement, though I've had some thoughts on the Bosal kit that is out ther...

Re: p0335 - crank position sensor code, stalled in my driveway

Never got aroun to reporting back. Ended up ordering a new Crank Position Sensor from the local Nissan Dealer. Cost $110. Access is super easy, remove passenger wheel and pull the wheel liner back and its right there. I used a couple elbows to get my socket onto the 10mm bolt. In and out in 10 minut...

Try finding a code reader that shows pending codes.

Re: 2012 Pathfinder tranny fluid

I tend to stay within 3hrs of home with my rig. Going further would be costly for fuel, as I tend to average 8-10 mpg. Wind and hills will make this worse. So 3-4k miles would cost over $500 in fuel, plus campsite fees. (avg $30-50/night) Can your truck do it? Absolutely. But it'd probably be cheape...

So here we are, 6 years later. Towing the travel trailer home after the long weekend. Truck was towing awesome. Suddenly, the engine lost power, the speedo went to zero, and the 4wd indicator went blank. It seemed like forever, but only happened for about 1 second. When I got home, i checked for cod...
