Follow up

So, I ended up doing as I described and it works flawlessly. I actually ended up de-pinning the connector as I felt this would be the cleanest method and would also allow me to put everything back to stock if necessary. By doing it this way there is no need for a switch and no cutting of the factory...

Hold the lock and unlock buttons on your remote simultaneously until the horn chirps. You can turn the feature on and off this way regardless of the "settings".

Sorry to revive an old thread but I was hoping for a little more clarity. So I have an 08 Le v8. It's a non nav Bose system. I got it pulled apart tonight.
