Thanks, smj. You are basically confirming what I am saying but not really providing an answer. Not that I blame you, you are not a spokesperson for Nissan anyway. I was kind of thinking the same thing - i.e. the shorter warranty period for brakes, for example. But how do you translate that logic/pro...

Thank you for replying, Kestral. I may give it a try, though I am still wondering what the difference is between it and OEM. BTW, the reason I don't use Fram is because I could not close the air box. The rubber gasket is thicker than OEM. I had the same experience with Denso and Purolator filters. T...

Value Advantage air filter

Does anyone have any experience with Nissan Value Advantage line of replacement parts? I am specifically asking about air filter now – I got coupon in mail advertising value advantage filter for $10 at the local dealership. I researched online but could not really find out anything specific. I sort ...

Hi guys, so I decided to just do the bypass now and maybe next summer replace the radiator. I searched the threads and it appears there are 2 ways to go about it: 1. purchase transmission line and cut it to size, and it replaces current lines; 2. keep existing tubes and just buy a metal connector (n...

Thank you both! So here is what I am thinking and couple of follow up questions. I cannot do bypass right now for free – I looked and the hoses are different on my 2010 compared to diagrams in this thread on earlier models. I would need to buy couple of feet of the hose, plus end caps. No big deal, ...

Thanks, Terry. I kind of expected this answer, just wasn’t sure if 2010s have been spotted by now. My main concern and the reason why I have not done bypass so far is warranty coverage. I can see the dealer not wanting to replace transmission for free at say 79K miles if I did either the bypass or r...

I am currently at 71K miles on my 2010 Pathfinder. It runs great, no issues whatsoever. I drain&fill transmission fluid every 15K miles, and replaced coolant at 60K miles. Drained fluids look (surprisingly) very clean, so I know there is no contamination issue as of yet. As I near 80K warranty p...

Just wanted to say thanks. It was almost too easy – I have no idea why the tool is needed. The coolant was draining for a long time, a little over 6 quarts total. I used my Lisle funnel to fill the radiator, closed it, filled the reservoir to the MAX line, closed it. Turned the engine on without rai...

Thanks smj, I really appreciate it! I have a few clarifying questions before I do this. When you drain, do you follow service manual, meaning you unscrew the drain plug and remove the reservoir cap only, while leaving radiator cap on? Please let me know. Also, does the coolant from the reservoir dra...

Coolant drain and fill instructions needed

My first post here although I have frequented this forum for the last 5 years ever since I bought the 2010 Pathfinder. I really appreciate collective wisdom of this board. I am a DIY guy and change all the fluids myself. I also purchased service manual soon after purchasing vehicle to make sure I ca...
