It'd definitely the Crankshaft position sensor as it's been disconnected and is currently separated into two pieces (one wedged in the original location, the other on my kitchen table). I don't think I have any distributor issues (I hope). I drove it on a 600km round trip last week and the fuel econ...

Sure, thought it was worth double checking. Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. I have a Bluetooth OBD reader that I use every few days so should pick up any additional codes that come up. Luckily I'm up in British Columbia and don't have emissions tests (it's running pretty clean anyway, thankfully). But aside from that you don't think there's any real di...

Well I had my mechanic have a look and he found it where the diagram indicates but further than it looks. Unfortunately there must have been some rust buildup becasue he snapped the damn thing off. He says it's going to be an absolute b*stard to get out, mainly becasue there's no room to get at it a...

Crankshaft position sensor location (99 manual)

I feel incredibly thick asking this but I spent two hours under the vehicle last night and can't find the damn thing. According to the VIN lookup it's a '1999 Nissan Pathfinder 99.5 4dr XE 4WD Auto' (Weird because it's a manual but anyway). Following a manual (http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Pathfinder/...

Duly noted, thanks. I'll keep away from the cheaper stuff then. I haven't had a chance to start work on it, but I went over my notes to double check a few things and what has actually happened is it first showed 'PO340 (Camshaft Position Sensor) and PO325 (Knock Sensor)', and then later 'P0335 (Cran...

1999 PF: PO340 - Camshaft Position Sensor

Important points bolded for ease of reading: About two months ago I had a hard start in the cold (-20C/-4F) and brought up a engine light, which gave two codes: PO340 (Camshaft Position Sensor) and PO325 (Knock Sensor) . I had a mechanic mate clear the code to see if it was just a glitch and about a...

I bit the bullet and ordered from Quattro tires. Ended up relatively cheap ($500 all in delivered for some bottom of the range winters). Decent customer service, called the day after I ordered because they ran out of stock and gave me slightly more expensive set at th same price). Would have liked t...

Okay, looks like I can get a hold of some 235/70/16 firestone winterforces in pretty good condition. I don't know the rim width on what I'm currently running but since they're 245/70/16's, I assume they should be good given it's a small difference between widths. Can anyone confirm?

Tire sizes and rim compatability

Got a question on rims, tires and the like. If you can point me towards any obvious info sources that would be awesome. I've got a 1999.5 pathfinder on 16 inch rims, and the M&S tires on front were pretty bald which isn't great for winters up here in Canuckistan. So I put on some decent, slightl...

New member, older pathfinder, new problems (tire sizes)

Hey Guys, Just bought a 1999 Pathfinder after scrapping a 95 Astrovan that succeeded in it's quest to kill itself, eat a truly unfair amount of time, effort and money but ultimately failed to kill it's long suffering owner. Never again. Skip to the bottom if you don't want to read a wall of text. So...
