Yes, I wish it was a manual at least... So the VIN doesn't even have information about the production date? Regardless, the information that the VIN has is relevant for importation. Apologies for my ignorance, I am not familiar with the acronym DMV. It seems to be a registry entity? There was a docu...

Well, a suggestion would be to jack up a front tire and try moving the wheel with your hands (if you can manage) or a sledge/mallet. If the wheel moves side to side, could be a control arm. If the wheel has movement from top to bottom the bearing is gone. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this one...

In response to Hawairich; 1. The truck is a 2004 Pathfinder SE 3.5L V6 4x4. The gauges are in metric/English. The truck is not exotic, the idea is I want to drive from Chile to Canada. That is why I need to import, for the trip and not necessarily the truck. 2.It is an R50, would have been cool to h...

To keep this post running a bit; The alternator was investigated and it was found to be a faulty voltage regulator. I guess the regulator was a cheap one and the controller inside burnt out. This in turn created the spikes in the voltage and burnt the varnish on the copper coil and melted the bearin...

Thanks again Jetstream87, From what I understand, Canada needs proof of date of fabrication, proof of ownership, the vehicle has to meet regulation standards and recall requirements. The most important and seemingly difficult to find is the certificate from the manufacturer The website that you have...

Thanks smj999smj for your quick reply. Well, I took the alternator out and found it to be burnt out. I am still not exactly sure what happened as the prediction is different with every electro mechanic I see. The alternator started to squeel quite loud one day driving, the transmission oil temp ligh...

Thanks Jetstream87, this is the information I need about the vehicle. The only thing I am not sure about is whether the Canadian border service agency will accept the website as legitimate. When I called they told me I need a way of proving this information officially. Would anyone know where to fin...

Loss of Engine response to throttle application

2004 Pathfinder 3.5L I have recently been hit one minute to the other with the vehicle loosing response to throttle application. The vehicle gives a jump when I first press the accelerator and then dies off to idle again. I can repeat this process a few times before it stops responding and returns t...

Basic suspension upgrades

Hello, Recently I bought a 2004 Pathy. There is a significant amount of weight in the back, the vehicle is raking like mad. Recently at a weighing station I found that she is riding about 90 kilos from the max payload (TARE) reccomended by nissan. I am not looking to jack this thing up to the sky, i...

A quick question regarding this topic, I assume that by now you have replaced these bump stops in your ride. Which parts did you buy? I need to replace mine but as you know, any parts that come from the US get a nasty import fee. Normally, the more expensive OE parts are better than the aftermarket ...
