Is there any difference in chassis, are the bodies interchangeable

My 1996 Terrano flipped and body damage is a write-off but engine + drive train and interior and chassis all very good. A friend has a 2000 TR50 body (turbo diesel), can I move the engine and drive train + dashboard over etc. or alternatively move the good body over on to the crashed vehicle chassis...
