I have an 05 LE 2WD. When backing up, I can hear the rear u-joint squeak. I have vibration on acceleration above 40 MPH. Can the u-joint be bad, even though there is no play/movement when checked at the driveshaft?

I have a 2005, and I've noticed that my idle is higher than normal when its raining, or has been raining. I can accelerate and let of the gas and I will get a quick jump in RPMs. I've tried the pedal dance sequence to get the idle back down. It worked for a while, but now I'm having the same problem...

When doing the oil change, I noted that my girlfriend put more than 5 quarts of oil in. So possibly that could have done something. Yesterday the alternator died, and the noise went away. I have a 2001 Infiniti QX4 (similar to pathfinder), with about 2006,000 miles on it. I've developed a rattle that is hard to pinpoint the location. Changed the oil, still makes noise. What could it be? Here's a video of the noise.

I would think by 2008 most of the quirks from the factory would be gone. I have an 05 with close to 140,000. Fuel sending unit, timing chain parts, 1 catalytic converter (under warranty) and a belt tensioner were. Are the only things that have failed on me (so far). I've probably spent less than $40...

Have you tried using a different key? Maybe the security transponder in the key is messed up.

Mine does it every now and then, especially when the A/C is on. I did a transmission drain and refill (4 quarts). The bump feeling went away, but its now back, just not as frequently.

try turning your instrument cluster dimmer.

Mine did that. Changing the oil pressure sensor fixed it.

I have the same symptoms. I have an aftermarket radiator. I seem to be less noticeable when its very cold out, or the heat or AC is off. Never does it when the overdrive is turned off. Perhaps a transmission fluid change will help?
