Finally figured it out. If you close it one click, it will pull it in the rest of the way. This is a 2008 model SE. If I remember correctly, it is one motor assy that sits somewhere below the rear window and only a cable runs down to the latch. It's easy to pull the plastic panel and see what is goi...

I have an 08 SE V8 that I can hear the electronic latch running to cinch even if I slam it. I also have tried to shut it softly, and it doesn't seem do do anything. I replaced the latch because it started to rattle and the parts were about $150 on Courtesy. I'd like to know if this is a real feature...

I pull a 19' camper that weighs ~4500 lbs loaded. (no water). I've got a V8 PF with Airlift 1000 and tow it with an equalizer hitch. My recommendation is that with a V-6- Go with 18-19ft max unless you are a flat-lander. In Colorado we are always going over a mountain pass somewhere. Definitely get ...

V8 K&N CAI Install- First Impressions

Just finished up the KN V8 Kit Install-77-6016KS 77 Series. The install wasn't too difficult, my only gripe was that the instructions aren't really clear about which bolts/washers etc, go where. Fortunately, It is pretty hard to mess it up, since the thread sizes clue you in. My kit was missing hose...

Volant CAI

Can you confirm the part number you bought? Mine is an 08 5.6 I think I'm going to pull the trigger on one, assuming the install is as straight forward as you say. So, all you need to do is drill new bolt holes in the correct location on the bottom of the box and plug the ram air hole? Will it be ob...

Update- It's Really Fixed!

So, after several months tearing my hair out over this rattle in the b pillar, I finally took it to a body shop. It is now absolutely fixed. I haven't heard anything out of it since i picked it up nearly 3 weeks ago. They put sticky rubber stuff under the plastic top corner plugs on the inside of th...

Service Engine Soon Light- Fix

Had the dreaded Service Engine Soon light illuminate (solid) a couple of days ago...I reseated the cap and drove about 60-70 miles, and the light stayed on. Good News!! It was the fuel level sending unit that is covered by warranty. Warranty was extended 10yrs past in service date, and to 72,000 mil...

AirLift 1000 Ordered

Just ordered my Airlift 1000 bags. I do occasionally tow about 4000-5000 lbs with a WDH/Equalizer hitch. It keeps it pretty level, but I'd like to stiffen up the back end some. I know a lot of you are running these bags and love them. Any suggestions on do's and don'ts relating to the install and ai...

I currently tow about 5k pounds with my 08/5.6L. I've towed with and without the WDH/Sway control. All I can say is spend the money and do it right, regardless of the weight. Specifically, I use the original "equal i zer" brand and it tows absolutely straight and the back end stays relativ...

First I tore the entire tailgate apart, which isn't too hard and re-positioned/ tightened the bolts on the body-side of the latch and it didn't work. Also drove it without the trim to eliminate that. After that, the only solution was to replace the latch mechanism. I had the dealer do it, because th...

I'd love to, but I haven't figured out how to post photos here. I've already put it all back together too. It is basically just forward of the top seat belt anchor, 1/2 way between the anchor and door seal. I think I've gotten about the 99% solution. It will still rattle very faintly once and a whil...

No- I don't believe it's structural damage. I think it's more likely that the sealant wasn't applied evenly or the tack welds were a little off. Probably just built on a Friday. It's really not a huge issue. I'll probably just drill a hole and squirt a lot of slicone in it and hope for the best. It'...

Update

Well, the B-Pillar rattle has been solved. But, unfortunately, it isn't fixable. Apparently, the two metal halves of the B pillar were welded/glued together but there is slight movement that allows the two metal halves to contact just forward of the upper seat belt anchor. I'm exploring the idea of ...

Update-

Admittedly, I don't tolerate squeaks and rattles well. The noise in the B-pillar almost sounds metallic. One possibility that the dealer mentioned is there are metal pins in the seatbelt assembly. If it is seatbelt related, it would be covered by warranty. Dare I to hope??? Don't get me wrong I do r...
