Re: Intake Manifold Power Valve noise ????

I’m experiencing a loud annoying noise when accelerating. It resembles spark knock and or a heat shield rattling. If I accelerate slowly or romp on the gas it may not occur. If I let off the gas it stops. One mechanic was able to mimic the noise by holding the break and revving the engine to approx...

I ended going with the Sylvania Silver Star ultra. They're definitely better than what was previously installed which was also Sylvania but not as bright..had more of the yellowish looking beam. The Silver Stars are alot brighter. I chose those hoping they'd have a longer life over the brighter opti...

2008 Pathfinder headlight and Fog Lamp BRIGHTER BULBS?

I've been reading several of the responses regarding replacement of just the bulbs and what to buy. I kind of have a good idea but I am also feeling a bit confused. I don't want to take this information to the local part store and be told something completely different... So my question is. What kin...

Timing belt or Chain?

I have a 2008 Pathfinder SE V6 2WD. Does it have a timing belt or chain or does it vary between the two? What's the recommended mileage for replacement? Thanks for your advice from a guy that doesn't know.

Liftgate Struts

I just replaced mine on the lift gate. I bought them from Advance Auto for just under $60.00 and they were easy to replace. I'm sure you can get them from any local parts store.

2008 Navigation question

I have been told I can get a "download" from the dealer that will install the GPS program on my Pathfinder SE. Does anyone now anything about that or if there is a aftermarket system that would work with the factory display? Thanks for your help

Re: Nissan Radiator / Transmission Cooler

Is by-passing the trans cooler in the radiator costly? Will that remedy this issue all together?

Nissan Radiator / Transmission Cooler

I was wondering how many of you have or know of someone who's had the problem with the radiator / transmission cooler. I have app 52,000 miles on mine and had it looked at by Nissan a few days ago. They said everything looked fine. I'm just wanting to know how prevalant this is. If it's common I mig...

2008 SE 4x2 with a chrome CAI from K&N?

I heard with some engines if the air / fuel mixture isn't right it can make fuel mileage worse. So with a that being said...has anyone every removed a CAI and replaced it with the stock air intake but with a K&N or some other brand of high performance cleaner? There may be a chance I'm over thin...

Question about exhaust

Has anyone ever changed their exhaust from the cat back by just having a larger diameter pipe installed? I'm looking for a little better fuel economy. I'm not looking for something any louder than stock. Thanks for any info you guys have. Great forum.

2008 SE 4x2 fuel mileage

I use Castrol Synthetic oil with the Lucas Oil additive. I only use 89 octane and as long as I drive conservatively I get 19.1 mpg and have seen 20.0 mpg all around town.

what kind of shocks did you get to smooth the ride out? I still haven't done anything. I know a guy who works for Nissan, he drove it and said it just felt very firm and tight. He also thought it'd be a waste of money replacing the factory shocks. He said everything felt normal to him and that was ...
