If I bypass the internal, I would need to add a second external cooler?

I don't want to lose the primary (internal) and secondary (external) ability to cool trans fluid while towing. I pull 6k lbs and can't afford a fail of that magnitude. Please advise.

So now what? Do I monitor or go pro-active and preventive. The V-8 looks like a huge rad. and with huge comes $. I do have the tow package with additional external trans cooler fan....Which fluid do I monitor? Trans dip stick or coolant, or both? Which shows problem first? Thoroughly confused and bu...

I stand corrected, I should have said recall. Doesn't seem fair the consumer should have to pay anything for an obvious engineering design flaw... wear and failure are completely different.

Now hold on....trans/rad question

How is this not a manufacturing defect?? I had an 06, now have an 08 V-8, I love it, but this issue is clearly a MD. Thank you for the feedback, can you provide the youtube link so I can see for myself? Also, I guess I have to figure in a new rad...Kinda pissed....We owners need to file a class acti...

Now hold on....trans/rad question

I was told the "fail" only occurs when the rad and trans fluids are old, spoil and become acidic. The acidic fluid eats away at the solder of the trans cooler located inside the main radiator and causes the fluid exchange. If you change out the fluids and keep them "fresh" the pr...

Side view mirror glass

2008 NPF LE, V-8, 4WD, Auto,.......Drivers side, side view mirror glass (heated), is cracked and needs to be replaced. I don't want to replace the entire unit, just the glass. Have read about replacement glass installed using a hair dryer to soften the adhesive on the back of existing, pop off and r...

Mother Puss Bucket......So my mechanic owes me a new coolant flush, vacuum down, and fill at no cost to me, plus 2 hours of labor for diagnostic as a result of a simple screw up when the initial flush and fill occurred in early August. Not to mention the potential unforeseen damage inflicted on my P...

Boy, that would sure get my shorts in a bunch.....I paid a pile of cash chasing this issue only to discover mechanic error. Are you sure the rad doesn't get a spring plunger and the bottle does? I am concerned about damage to the system if the rad doesn't have a relief valve....I still have the Auto...

Sorry for the delayed responses, Yes the levels were adjusted properly during servicing. Right now I have everything overfilled just to prevent overheating as a result of repeated purging. Seems to only occur when outside temp is elevated above 80 F and I get on the truck a little. When I put a load...

06 PF coolant purge

Oh, and btw had the system emptied and vacuumed tested and re-filled, holds vacuum and still have the problem. Not sure if it's air getting into the system somewhere or a pressure building and purging problem.

2006 PF SE Coolant purge head scratcher

2006 PF SE 4.0L V6 4WD Auto 131K miles....So I had my rad flushed and filled. Now seems to purge coolant from overflow bottle randomly and routinely. Not sure what to make of it. Seems to occur when stopped and engine heat builds after driving for a while. Temp. gauge in normal range at all times......
