Thanks guys. I have really strong 3M double sided tape but i'm not convinced it will last. I guess only one way to try. Need some clamps though to get it to make good contact.
We finally figured out the issue, it was the crankshaft sensor. I bought an ODBII reader and plugged it in while driving and had torque running. Got the code for the crankshaft sensor when it turned off. Seems to be a common part to replace.
Figured this out by pulling most of the transmission shifter apart. The main link going to the transmission was loose / disconnected. Finally reconnected and it worked again. I'm not sure what I lost yet, still need to look at the parts in there for my R51 but the fact that I was able to get the car...
I get to my buddies house tonight and spend an hour at his place. Go outside and try to crank my truck but it won't crank. I notice that the dash is indicating it's in "D" even though it's in Park. The car rolls like it's in "N". I don't see a check engine light and when I turn t...
Hello All! Having some problems with my Pathfinder. In the last 3 weeks it has turned the motor off all by itself 3 times, twice this week. My wife is going to take it to the dealer and we are going to get a rental, but is the IPDM / ECM Relay likely the culprit? Also the AC in the back completely s...
Thanks for the response. Probably needed that honesty... I am a fairly aggressive driver (accelerate fast and brake hard), we live a block from the beach (lots of salt in the air), it's 38 degrees here everyday and there is a few kms of dirt trails we need to drive on to get to the surf break 2-3 ti...
Does anyone know what the factory declared lifespan of the lower control arm bushings is for the pathfinder? Also could the vehicle being airborne result in additional stress on the bushings making them wear out sooner? My Pathfinder R51 was in an accident a year ago and the vehicle was a meter off ...
Well technically Costa Rica is part of North America. My pathfinder is a V6 from the local dealership and it was made in Spain and comes with a 5 speed auto/tiptronic transmission. The valve body was in fact the problem. The order arrived in Costa Rica from UAE in like 4 days and took them half a da...
Update: I called a few US based parts stores and none of them have the part I need for my truck. I finally found https://partsouq.com where I entered my VIN and it provided the exact scematics for my truck. Got the part number and they themselves sell it and ship from UAE. Shipping is $168 for this ...
In doing some really deep digging I found this: http://www.partsbase.org/nissan/pathfinder-r51-gl-w-vq40de-4wd-le-5at-auto-gcc-power-train/ That recommends part number: 31705-EC10B which says the newer version is: 31705-EC10C Seems that 31705-EC10C is the right one, but I'm not 100%. Anyone else hav...
Hello All, My Pathfinder with 131,000 KM's went into limp mode on Monday. I had to drive about 300km to get to the dealership but I did so with as little slippage in the tranny as possible. It threw 3 codes at Nissan: p0744 p1757 p1759 It took the dealership 4 days to figure out the issue and today ...
Thanks a lot for the reply. Apparently the arms that are bad are the back ones which have ball joints attached to them and according to the dealership the ball joint can't be replaced on it's own. Great to hear that the bushings can be replaced. I'm definitely not capable of doing a job like this. I...
Hello All, I have my car in the agency for the 100K service. They also said they found wear on the suspension arms (the rolls/bearings) and body bushings. They want to replace the suspension arms and quoted me $400 each side + labor ($250 total) and $200 for the body bushings + labor ($50). Does any...
