I purchased covers that you hog ring on from JC witney but that was years ago.

I would also suggest you try a upholstery shop near you, you may find they will match the material and color and instal for less than the dealer charges for a cover.
I did this on my Suburban.

I dont think the crank is grooved. That normally happens when there is dirt that act as an abrasive. The crank is hardened and yes the front seal gets dirt in there and groves the crank. I would ask why the CATS are blocked.

Read up on the Oil consumption problem from the PCV valve and rocker cover baffles.

I am due for plugs so will replace my PCV and maybe put in a catch can in the PCV valve line.
