Re: Found my coolant leak

Can't catch a break from this car. Had since ever a rattling noise at 1000rpm. Found out that the muffler was the source. A new one from the dealer was around 450 euro ex vat. So ordered a walker aftermarket from rockauto (88US +106US postage and taxes). Still half the price. Changing an exhaust is...

Re: Broken transmission cooler

and solved! The one from the salvage yard had the same issue. So I found an alu cooler repair shop at 1-1/2 hr. drive. They welded a new tube. And tada! oilcooler_repaired.jpg As I found out on a german forum this failure is quite common, but apparantly only one eurospec models. With obvious catastr...

Re: Broken transmission cooler

I am glad you clarified right away its not the SMOD issue thats the first thing I was worried about when I read your headline. Especially given where you live. Yes, sourcing a replacement transmission would be a big problem. Its not all that common, even though yours looks bigger than what I seem t...

Broken transmission cooler

For the last months I found some small drops of oil under te car. I suspected the rubber gasket behind the engine oil cooler. Today started to work on it. After removing the engine under shields it was obvious that the lower connection of the transmission cooler was leaking. First thought was that t...

Re: Pathfinder in the Snow

Awesome!! Is this a US spec Pathfinder or Euro spec? Euro Spec 2005 V6. Full options. Is this the 4.0? I heard the gas V6 was super rare in Europe. As in, just a few hundred examples exist. Can you confirm? Yes. 4.0 v6. super rare. Back in the days diesels were preferred, more torque, better fuel e...

Re: XTP Intake manifold spacer (IMS) F/S!

Finally installed the spacer. The effect is there, feels like the engine picks up easier and quicker from 1500 rpm. Don't know the impact on milage yet. Makes you wonder why nissan didn't desgin the plenum like this in the first place.

Re: Should the heater pipe be a preventative maintenance part?

some time later. Installed the all metal heater pipes and drove the car down to italy and back, 2500km and no issues. That was the positive part. Now the bad part. It doesn't fit well, the 2 vertical pipes are too short and the angle with the horizontal pipe is off. The metal pipes comes with 2 new ...

Re: Replacement Engine

yes, the engine remained pretty much the same over the years. Keep the original wiring harness and I think the oil pressure sender from the old engine. I've now added 10K kilometers to my replacement engine.

Re: XTP Intake manifold spacer (IMS) F/S!

Just ordered mine, don't know how long shipping to europe takes. Was wondering: The spacer will raise the manifold, will the two 12mm bolts holding the manifold on the passenger side still line up with the holes? Or do I need to apply some pressure to bend it down? Regards, Norbert You don't want t...
