Bilsteins will make it stiffer. If you're looking for highway stability, then only do the rears. The fronts are not too bad. Not sure about wanting stability on the highway with the stock suspension. Wait until you hit a big enough rut in the road going 65-70 and you'll change your mind. Also not su...
I would avoid the M class, or any Mercedes for that matter. My coworker gets new Benzs for him and his wife every couple of years (lease) and that's generally all they ever get. He did have a Silverado at one point, but that was a few years back. At the moment him and her have 2 AMG M models. From s...
Ok so I got a exhaust manifold ordered from Advance Auto Parts. If the order was online I get 25% off so obviously thats the way I went. A little over $45 off so can't complain. As far as the cats go, I can't get the nuts/bolts loose. Due to how it snapped both cats want to move when I try and turn....
Ok, so I manged to dig in and find out what the issue was. Apparently the flange between the exhaust and the manifold just snapped. Looks like a clean snap too. I'm having a hard time getting the stuff out. As rusted as it looks, I'm tempted to just cut the pipes out, but I'd prefer to keep things a...
Underworld, You're in Austin! I live in Cedar Park. Nice man! I'm actually over here in Pflugerville, but just put Austin since everyone knows where that is. Plus no one knows how to pronounce or spell it half the time :D Nice job on the swap man. Wish I had a lift in my garage, haha. If there's an...
If I had a RWD, I'd put the 4x4 ones on there anyway. In the rear, the spring and shock are separate so doesn't matter which one you get. Considering stock the R51 likes to twerk over hard bumps, I'd go for the 4x4 ones. I'd upgrade the springs too in the rear. They're cheap and really easy to swap ...
My truck started acting like this a while back. No codes, nothing. A few months go by and i have an exhaust leak somewhere. I'm guessing the manifold. Could be the cat is all clogged up or the O2 sensor is getting lazy and the ECU is adjusting incorrectly. Mines a 2011 4x4 with 131k miles.
Wouldn't that trigger a code though? I'll see if I can tear it apart little by little this week. Manifolds don't look too expensive. If it is the manifold, have you heard of any issues with aftermarket ones? Drivers side initially looks like more of a pain than the passenger side, but I'll figure it...
Hey all, So I was driving the other day and stopped to get the mail. I noticed an odd sound from under the hood, kinda like there was a SLIGHT exhaust leak. I figured as much and drove it home. Checked it out when I got there and there couldn't find out that would point to where it exactly was, othe...
I have a R51 (US 2005-2012), not a R52 (2013+), but for tires I would recommend the BF Goodrich KO2 with a C load rating (6-ply tire). It's the lowest rating they make, but that's like saying the Porsche Boxster is the lowest level Porsche even though it costs about $50k-$60k. I've had mine on for a...
I've had my issues with the MAF on my truck. Bought a brand new one thinking the code would go away and it never did permanently, just temporarily. Got rid of my AEM dry flow filter (didn't want to deal with the oiling of the filter) and now no more code after resetting it. Been off for a few thousa...
