My 08 V6 does the same thing and has since it was new. Of course, the thing is totally falling apart now, so I can't for sure if it is "normal" or not!

So, my timing chain issue seemed to be fixed, HOWEVER, now I'm getting a loud hum/whine when I turn on the AC :x I wonder what they screwed up when they "fixed" the truck??? And yes, if this is a KNOWN issue and manufacturing/design defect, it SHOULD be covered under some kind of extended ...

My repair ended up costing me just under $1400....$390 for parts, $1k for labor - OUCH.

Things like this should NOT be failing on this vehicle - even at 90k miles. VERY frustrating.

And yes, seems like a known issue/possible design flaw.

My 08 Pathfinder has started making this noise LOUDLY lately. Time to take it in, I guess. I hope it's NOT the timing chain issue as it has just under 90k miles on it and is no longer under warranty :(

Same things happens on mine when I'm in slow/go traffic (which seems is always the case here in DC). Right around the 40mph mark it will manifest those symptoms...as soon as I notice it I take it out of OD and it's fine. Annoying, though. Unfortunately my 08 has 85k miles on it so I don't think the ...

Thanks NVSteve...now I know - I suppose I should have just done a search...I've been hanging out here long enough  ...and I agree, I think some of my current horrendous mileage is due to the really bad gas here too. We'll see if this changes any as we move toward summer. Thanks all for your re...

Spedo to GPS on the stock 245's was consistently about 3 mph off at highway speeds (70 on spedo was 67 on GPS)...now is dead on with the 265's. Mileage went from 20-21 to 15-16 on the onboard computer. Sheesh...08Datusn...20mpg highway on the 265's - I'm lucky if I get 16 since the tire change! It l...

Computer and Fuel Mileage

There was some discussion on here regarding the spedo reading "high" by a few mph with stock tires on the truck. I noticed this too as confirmed by my GPS unit. As far as mileage (per the trip computer) I was getting about 20 on the highway on the stock tires. Now, since I've replaced the ...

Hmm...both Advance, PepBoys, Autozone in this area of Maryland had nothing in terms of tranny hoses (per their sales folks)...but I was successful at the local NAPA store. Now I just need the outside temp to get out of the teens so I can do the change! I'm now about 20 miles from my 80k "extend...

You'll need a #10 metric wrench as well...obviously. I second the 'have someone help' sentiment. I did the change (with new stock struts) about a month ago...ended up just replacing one strut at at time and holding the gate up with my head as I used the tools with my hands. Lucikly I'm 6'-1" wh...

Tran Cooler Hose

I'm having a heck of a time finding 5/16 trans oil hose in any of the local auto parts stores. Does anyone know if a SAE30R6KX hose will work (as this is all I've been able to find so far?? I'm just about to turn 80k miles on my 08 and can't afford a new tranny so I'm going to try the bypass... THAN...

I'm interested! Very reasonable indeed.

I can't see the photos of your rig here (ahem...at work), but I'll take a look tonite to see what you mean and will let you know. I'd like it to accomodate (3) KC 6" lights at a minimum.

Many thanks!

Actually, I just read over your thread Richard and liked what I see! So the obvious question is...how much for you to fab up one like you did for NVSteve?
