Re: Coolant leaking

So I found out where my leak is happening. As soon I got home I was hearing a hissing sound. I may not be the best to describe it but it is a hose located on the passenger side right under next to the distributor. So I followed the upper radiator hose which connects to coolant outlet, on the right h...

Re: Coolant leaking

I believe the hose you are looking for is Nissan # 14056-0W002. It would be part code 14056NB on the diagram. As far as the other issue, I like to use a Lisle spill-free funnel which has an adapter that lets you mount it to the radiator cap fitting on the top tank of the radiator. Raise the front e...

Re: Coolant leaking

That sounds like too much to be air pockets. yes there must be a leak somewhere. I hope its not your head gaskets. What does your exhaust look like? The exhaust looks good to be honest, no White smoke, no smell as far I can tell. In the day time we do get to the 70's here in So. Cal and at night in...

Re: Coolant leaking

It is common for a newly refilled system to have large void spaces left over. Put the nose of the vehicle as high up as you realistically can before parking it overnight. Then in the morning top off. Obviously dont just put in distilled water but actual glycol coolant too. If you overheat remember ...

Coolant leaking

Hello team! I been dealing with a mystery lately with my 1997 Nissan Pathfinder. As my prior post I had a hose burst on me about a week or two ago, I notice that when I got to work I smelled hot water (I currently did not have any coolant in the engine). When I was in line for gas at Costco I realiz...

What hose are these?

This morning I got up to go to work, as I parked I noticed that boiled water was coming out of the engine (I have the radiator it with distill water). Checking under the hood I found a leak on the hose in I temporarily bought some hoses from Autozone ( was able to replace the back one [right one] )....

Head gasket leak

So unfortunately my head gasket gave out............now the car is in repair. Tomorrow they will disassemble part of the engine to get into the head gasket and resurface them. Since I made this investment I got some Blue Coolant (Aisin ACB 003); will I have to make a flush after they replace the hea...

It could be any of a number of things. There are a few coolant hoses under the intake plenum that could leak. An external head gasket leak or an intake gasket leak could be an issue. A freeze out plug could be leaking. Only way to know is to get a look behind there or have it put on a lift so one c...

Heater core leak

So this weekend I was driving home from work which I notice the gauge of the temperature climb 3/4 of the range. I was able to park the car and open the hood to find out it was spilling coolant (water since I did not had coolant in the system) so I tried to manage to determine where was the leak com...

Misfire cylinder #2

I have a 97 Nissan Pathfinder SE in which out of nowhere my car started to flash the C.E.L on the dashboard - I plug in the OBII and it gave me misfire on cylinder No.2. I do feel the engine vibrate on idle and when I come into stops. The spark plugs were swapped out about 3 years ago (NGK) along wi...

The 2005-2012 are so much more vehicle though.... if you are talking about Scotty Kilmers youtube vids the guy tends to hyperbole. Then main problem those had and how to adress you can find in our R51 subforum but i dont want to talk you out of a R50.. Just trying to make sure you look at them for ...

2001-2004 Pathfinder

Good news! I am in the market for a used car and after searching I decided to replace my 97 Pathfinder with an newer model. I am leaning on a 2001-2004 in which I saw a youtube video where a mechanic was saying that the early 2000's are better built quality vs the newer ones. I decided to get the sa...

This is what I need to replace after the damage; found most of the parts on Rockauto; except the airbags I will need to get them from Ebay: - Front Bumper - Grill - Headlamps assembly - Fenders - Bumper filler - Back Bumper - Back bumper trim - Radiator Support (bent) - A/C condensor (bent) - Airbag...

2003's did not share the Maxima's transmission. The 2003 Pathfinder had the VQ35DE engine. The pluses are it's got a lot more power than the VG33E, gets better gas mileage and has timing chains instead of a timing belt. The cons are that it does have a lot more sensors and is technologically more a...
