2006 PF Emerg. rake issue

Thanks for the information, kind of explains why the pedal still goes all the way to the floor prior to engaging, even after the adjustment. The secondary adjustment point is interesting. Do you know where this secondary adjustment location is or exactly what it is? Mine is working, but like you sai...

2006 Nissan PF Leaking Transfer Case seal

Thanks for the info. I'm almost positive the seal is leaking. My mechanic wants to replace the bushing on the interior of the transfer case. I'm a little Leary of this procedure as I'm not too confident in his ability to perform this task correctly. I'm taking it back to him because he did the 1st a...

E Brake update

I pulled the left rear wheel the other day and on the face of the hub is a rubber plug with a slot in it. Pull the plug with a pair of pliers and spin the hub so that the exposed access hole (where the plug was) lines up at 6:00. Shine a flashlight into the hole and you should see an adjustment whee...

2006 PF Coil Spring update

Installed the Air Lift 1000 over the weekend. Easy task, took my time, (could've been done in 2 hrs tops.) ran the lines independently, inflated to 10 psi and noticed an immediate difference. Will add air to 15 psi and leave it there until pulling camper. Was a little difficult to get "bags&quo...

2006 Nissan PF, leaking transfer case seal

Nissan PF, SE, 4WD, V-6, 4.0L, Auto., Here's the deal. Leaking transfer case main seal (rear) replaced. Cause was due to stiff/rusted, main drive shaft U-Joints. I guess the strain of the U-joints not working properly was transferred to the seal causing the leak. Mechanic replaced the seal and both ...

2006 PF Em. Brake

Thank you for the informative response. Sounds like a job I can handle. Just a few follow up questions though; what about the ABS system?, anything I need to be aware of? Do you know where there may be some pics of the drum? What type of lubricant can be used on the system/drum/assembly? Can a helpe...

2006 PF Emerg. Brake problem

2006 PF, SE, 4WD, V-6, 4.0L, Auto....My emergency brake won't engage when the pedal is depressed. Tension is applied, feels like it's engaging but nothing locks the rear brakes.

Please advise how to perform a diagnostic, what to look for, where. Tips and advice is greatly appreciated.

2006 PF Coil Spring solution

I love this forum. After reading all four pages of comments I purchased the Air Lift 60810 kit from Amazon. Actually looking forward to tackling this project. Beats painting the house anytime! Thank you Volvite. I'll get back to you with a follow up feedback after install. Now if I can only find the...

2006 PF Coil Springs

I have a 2006 Nissan PF, SE, V6, 4WD, Auto. My coil springs seem weak. When I go over a dip in the road or have a full compliment of passengers, the rear seems to bottom out, that is the springs completely compress. I recently replaced the shocks with rancho's but now it appears the springs may need...

No I haven't, bought it with 98k. Didn't hear the thunk until 105K. Is the ABS activated with a spring or hydraulics?

Had the tranny flushed and replaced with matic s fluid, then had the transfer case main seal replaced (leaking), rear drive shaft seal replaced (pro-active), also replaced front and rear drive shaft u joints (rusted, which caused the fr. seal to leak). Also had the transfer case and rear fluids repl...

Normal?

Okay, so this noise is "normal". If this is true, then why didn't it occur until after the odometer hit 107K? Can anyone please tell me what exactly is happening? What is the noise? Does it have anything to do with the E Brake because that is not engaging also. I haven't had the time to ta...

Thunk reply

Yes it does. I find it hard to believe that this is normal. VDC and ABLS huh? What part is bad? Can it be fixed? Sounds like someone is hitting my transmission case with a hammer....

2006 Nissan PF SE Transmission Thunk when shifting

2006 Nissan PF SE, 4WD, Auto, V6, 4.0L. What is the thunk I hear during 1st drive of the day. Only happens once, then not again until trans is cold. Sounds like dull metal thunk similar to the sound of driving over a man hole cover. Is this the Trans?, Transfer Case? Rear Diff? Front Diff? Drive Sha...
