Thanks for the advice!

It seems to be cheap insurance to replace oil every 4000miles for myself as I will do so in more than a year...

Going over scheduled maint' ... questions

I recently bought a 2008 SE with 53k. I am not sure what the previous guy did so I want to play safe. Because my car is 60 months old and has 53k - I want to do things from the 60k and 75k schedules. questions: 1. Is it an overkill to do things from the 75k - 60months schedule? 2. Do I have a 'in-ca...

The 'holding both buttons' worked! Thanks Dan! Another thing, when I first start the car it has this noise for a few minutes. I think it is the chain but not sure. I made an audio of it. I started next to the driver side tire and then moved to the passenger side tire. http://www.megafileupload.com/e...

Excellent info! Thank you so much Dan! I will first try to let the car worm up and then put it in as well as use the break when in incline. I will also check the level of transmission fluid. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this truck. Only thing I don't like... fuel economy. I would have been happy with a sma...

rough when switching from P to D/R

I am still getting used to my 2008 pathy (4.0). I love it so far! It feels kinda of rough to me when I switch from P (Parking) to either D (Drive) or R (reverse).. A strong bang usually occurs. Is that ok? Also, not sure if that is how it is supposed to be or not but when I click on my remote to loc...

Strange bump/metal banging when braking - every so often.

Hey, I have 08' and I noticed that sometimes, when I brake, there is a strange bump feeling from the breaks.. I think it's when the abs kicks in but not sure. Almost feels like I'm going over metal bars that are hitting the break paddle... Btw- what is that black mesh that is embedded in the windshi...

What does it mean to take care of your pathy?

Just got an 08' SE 4.0 with 52k... I would like to take great care of it. I was never a "car person" so I'm not sure what does it mean to take really good care of your car... I can follow the schedule maintenance of course but if someone could shine some light on what one SHOULD do to make...

All is done. Got the car.. Very very happy. Drove it upstate toy land- flawlessly.

I want to make sure - am I safe to run it until 8yr/80k for the whole radiator transmission without any fear?

I don't want to do the bypass if I don't need to and then have Nissan void the warranty if I do.

First, a certified check from bank of america is like cash. Wrong. I know what a certified check is. I've been involved in finance and banking for 20 years. Almost all banks will hold cashiers checks because of fraud and it doesn't matter if it's drawn on BofA or First Bank of Bum Fck. In fact, Bof...

The radiator/transmission issue is warrantied with no customer co-pay for 8 years/80,000 miles (http://www.nissanassist.com/web/Radiator/faqs.php?menu=22). 80K - 90K has a $2,500 co-pay; 90K-100K has a $3,500 co-pay. I've been told that any coolant system modification (like the bypass) may void the...

I'm sold on the bypass. I am sure there are great guides out here for this. If it's that simple - I am doing it. it's definitely that easy. i'd even give you my cell and i can walk you through it if you need. here's my writeup on what i did: http://www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic.php?t=9717 Thanks ...

Like really???? It's basically cash. Not true at all. Most (probably all) banks hold cashiers checks because there is so much fraud with them now. The only way I'll take a cashiers check is if the buyer is willing to wait the 5-6 days for it to clear. Might as well just take a personal check. Also,...

seems like a decent deal to me. lowest i can find is ~$18,500 from a dealer. unless you're going to be doing some heavy towing or going up 10% grade hills on a regular basis, just do the bypass. i just bypassed mine, takes about 5 minutes (with a power screwdriver) to undo the bottom skid plates, a...

Found a 08'. Buying it in a couple of days.

52k miles, SE, Tow package, grey... for.... $12k. From private party.

Is that a good deal?

Also, I am trying to figure out the SMOD thing. Should I bypass or replace radiator? what's the cost difference? I will need a mechanic for any of those options btw... I don't handle cars.

Thanks for the input!

I thought I read the 2008+ are significantly more reliable and don't have the smod issue anymore.. Maybe someone will chime in.
