Re: Thinga-Ma-Jigger Update

The upgrades continue... hopefully.

After all the complaints about getting in and out of the pathfinder the wife cleared the sliders.

Ordered the full coverage kicker sliders.

We will see if this works out.

Re: R51 rim option - Jante Wheels - anyone heard of them

100$ a wheel? thats a screaming deal... as in either you scream because they brake or because the deal was so good. But thats a gamble for sure.

Re: Windshield Washer Nozzles

Hi All, I ordered, these two part numbers below. There is conflicting information listed online at different places. Some say that they are correct and some say that they are for later models. I just received them and initially they look correct. I will report back here once i have a chance to insta...

I haven’t dealt with this issue before but it could be related to the fluid have you changed it regularly. Have you checked the level? Simple things first right.

Re: Thinga-Ma-Jigger Update

BTW, there are some squeaks (i think from the suspension), but I still love this tire wheel and suspension setup. MPGs went from 15.5 to 13.8/13.9. However, the previous tires traveled about 10% less distance then the current ones. So based on my calculations its a wash to maybe .1 or .2 percent le...

Re: 2012 R51 Suspension Upgrade Needed! Any tips?

I am partial to my setup (Koni shocks all around) but i can't say i have compared others. If i was to do it again i would probably get the front spacers for the extra little bit and the spc control arms. You didn't say what size wheels you have but if you have the 17's or 18's already that would sav...

Re: Pics of R51 WITH 265/65/18 and 275/65/18 tires

I have a set of LT285/65/R18 of those Geolanders on my pathfinder now. VS the stop size tires on 16 in rims, the geolanders are a little less compliant on bumps on the road. but otherwise handle quite well in their current newish condition (on a few ks). They are on aftermarket rims with a lift and ...

I was getting ready to do an order at rock auto for some parts and i pulled up the calipers... There some options there for a 2007 (v6 and v8 may be mixed in here).

Re: RPM-Specific Noise Driving Me Nuts

Hard to say without more info on the sound. I have in the past (on my 73 BMW bavaria) had drive shaft vibrate at a specific speed. Could also be related to any of the engine or transmission mounts changing angles etc. but there really are a lot of things it could be. Maybe check the belt tensioner p...

Re: 2012 V6 4.0. Cold Air Intake and Cat Delete with Magna Flow

I don't know why people call these things cold air intakes. The mod basically changes the air intake to consume air from within the engine bay which has been ... wait for it ... heated by the engine and radiator. This is a total misnomer. The stock airbox takes air from outside the engine bay which ...

Re: Windshield Washer Nozzles

Yeah i see aftermarket stuff on ebay and such and it looks like total trash. Maybe there are nicer ones out there. I guess i will look next time i go to autozone but i would prefer to get the OEM ones.

Re: Loss of heat stopped at idle.

Hi All, Thanks for all the comments. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a small leak in the system. Also i did notice a whirring noise that i thought was the fan wearing when the coolant was low. I haven't noticed it since i topped it up. I also did the heating things to get it up to temp as best i...

Re: caliper manufacturer

my experience is that can get one rebuilt at a local shop - these are not too complicated. I've also grabbed one from CarQuest (Advanced Auto) and the first one received had a different bolt span. Returned and second one fit perfectly. I would not hesitate to get an OEM one from a recycler. If your...

Thank. I have some homework to do on this for sure.

Or maybe I should go buy a tundra and burry my head in the sand ... and then by feet. ;)

Re: Loss of heat stopped at idle.

Put a little under half gallon in and then did a bit of idling and it got up to around 100 at the upper return tube and I lost patiences with waiting for it to heat up so I took a little drive to warm it up. It was about 160 and then started dropping when I parked it. I may have a stuck thermostat b...
