Well I ordered the parts yesterday , I went for a P3 unit over my original thought of a Curt discovery, that was a timed unit where the P3 is a proportional, it is also an automatic setup . I bought the P3 matching harness so that part is done. The relay - large brown one was also purchase from e-tr...
I understand the principal of Nissan parts from essential but as you have to buy an aftermarket brake controller anyway I don't see the problem with a harness for your vehicle from that source. having looked at the tech pages for several controllers it appears to be a simple wiring job without the h...
Thanks to those who replied. I have been looking further into the setup. I have found on the Curt website they do a 4 pin plug in to 7 pin outlet, seems tidy and simple to do, it also has additional wires that I assume take the trailer brake addition. They also do a trailer brake kit and associated ...
I have an 07, 2 years ago after the winter was over i jacked it up and power washed everything , including inside the main chassis rails. I gave it a week to dry out then applied a coating of rocker panel paint - the one you can over paint. that seemed to stick to the surface. i get my truck oiled e...
What about some garden trimmer line, you get the stuff with multi-edges, maybe feed it in then connect to a cordless drill on low speed, act like a drain cleaner snake.
Do you not get your truck oiled?
How much city are you doing, how long do you sit with the engine ticking over and what speed are you going and how hard are you accelerating. These are all very important factors. I use 4wd auto in poor road conditions whether wet or snow, I use it almost all the time in winter unless on the highway...
I am also interested in this feature but just to get this correct.
The 4 lo has to be engaged and the vehicle has to be on a relatively steep incline, so a signal from the gyro in the stability has to be operating.
I have an 07 and it is a dual speedo, KPH outer, MPH inner. That is good enough for the purpose of importing, you do not need a KPH speedo. I drive a lot in the US and don't find the inverse hard to read, I do however have my TomTom set so the speed is shown so I probably look at that more than the ...
Well that is interesting, the P0 code was that written on the works order, they did replace the valve but which one is anyone's guess. Well today with a lot of bad grace they fixed the snapped bolt. I am now fully sorted. They just piss you off when it is there fault and they act all shocked that yo...
Well I got the paperwork today and the code was P0455 - when I checked the website it gave P1455 but I assume it is the same P1445 EVAP Canister Purge Volume Control Valve Still have the sheared bolt although this is to be fixed by the dealer as well. At the moment it slides about on the cable ties ...
As a fellow Canuk I do not disagree with the selection of disallow, but as this is POTM and not member of the month should we not start a second poll with that as a title. it can be voted on the same and members could put forward members who have been outstanding in technical support of just informa...
Well the service manager passed me over to the shop foreman who said the apprentice did it. He checked with him and he admitted the bolt sheared. The foreman was not happy with cable ties and said the part weighs about 4 lbs and it would need a bolt. So after my less than impressive conversation wit...
I checked the bolt shaft that remains and it is good metal, i think no release agent was applied, this is a duty of care, the dealer is responsible to take all reasonable care while working on my car, I gave them a car with the part attached and unmodified - factory. If it is not able to last 4 year...
I agree, all the weight is at the top of the unit and the 2 cable ties are at the bottom so I have a call into the service manager - who I now find out has come over from GM - OH no shit domestic service expectation. I am going to request it is drilled out and if the captive not can be reused OK, if...
