I've had Alpine Type-S before and they sound ok without an amp, but noticeably better with one. If you're not going to amp them, look at some Infinity's... They have a much higher (in general) sensitivity ratio. I've got them in right now and love them!

Volvite,

Same issue when I switched to the DuraTracs... Seems to be about a 2 mph difference in actual speed vs. speedo reading and it also seems to show about 2 mpg less on the computer now as well...

I've used the Nightshades before as well on a different car and was very impressed with how it turned out. Again light, quick layers are best; allowing them to totally dry before adding additional layers.

I agree DEI is the best choice. I spent years selling and installing them and DEI was by far the best. I've had four of them, inlcuding the two-way responders, myself and have never had an issue Most of what you will see at Best Buy stores is DEI. Viper, Python, and I believe Avital are all owned by...

Thanks for the pics!! I've been kicking around the idea of pulling the boards off myself, but am definitely convinced now. It definitely looks much better!

I'm in the same boat as volvite... I've been kicking around the idea of taking off the running boards as well. I plan to eventually anyways to install rock sliders, but was thinking about going ahead with it now. If it's not too much trouble, could you post a pic without the running boards?
Thanks!

Someone may correct me, but I'm pretty sure the "PATHFINDER" on the bars is just a sticker and can be ordered separately from Nissan... Probably a lot easier than swapping them out. Just a thought!

I might be game for this.. Not too long of a drive from Central IL... There's also the Badlands off road park in Attica, IN. Here's a link to one of the pages of their pic gallery...

Price runs about $275... It's a fully enclosed air box that has a scoop that attaches to the box and pulls in air from just behind the grill just to the left of the driver's side headlight (when facing the truck from the front). The only thing I had trouble with was that I had to relocate the horn a...

NVSteve,

I've had mine in since March and put about 6500 miles on since installation. Albeit not that much, I did see an overall MPG gain.. 0.8 MPG increase in combined city/highway driveway (about 70% city).

I second volvite's opinion... I've had the Wrangler DuraTrac's on since the beginning of September and all I can say is, "WOW!!" Wet pavement, sand, gravel, mud, so far nothing has slowed me down. They ride pretty well, too, and don't have a lot of road noise. Highly recommend!
