Good to know about the cowl and washer nozzles. I’ve tried to find just the new nozzles themselves, with no luck. Do you have a picture of the cowl piece? Where did you order from?
Nice write-up! I’m at 165k on the original set, so knock on wood. What did the job cost you the second go-around? And on a side-note, how do you like the intake manifold spacer?
Definitely keep us posted! I know this will be on my agenda eventually...
Any recommendations for CV half-shafts? Are you replacing these at the same time?
I would doubt your prior problems could trip the 0430 code. Mine threw the same code without the prior issues you described. Due to the danger of the catalytic converter material possible failing and disintegrating and being sucked back into the cylinders, I replaced both primary catalytic converter...
I just had a set of Goodyear Duratracs installed. 255/75 R17 fit with the stock suspension. It’s a close fit, but the fit all the same. It raised the whole rig at least an inch or two over my 265/65R17 Hankook Dynapros I had on there. So far, they ride great!
Finally ordered the parts and did the V8 brake upgrade. The rotors are at least an inch larger in diameter. I went with AC Delco professional calipers w/brackets, Raybestos rotors, and Akebono ceramic pads, all from RockAuto.com. I got the Goodridge stainless brake lines from TireRack.com. Rear brak...
I just had the exact issue. the ABS, SLIP, VDC, and 4X4 warning lights all illuminated, and the 4-wheel drive indicator was blanked out. Code reader at one shop indicated a rear ABS sensor. After replacing that, the codes were still there. They traced the problem to a broken wire upstream from the r...
Are the factory ignition coils considered a wear-and-tear item? I replaced the spark plugs at 85k miles with NGK iridiums. Now at 151k miles, just wondering if I ought to replace the coils next time I replace the plugs. I’d rather do them both at the same time since the intake plenum has to come o...
When it comes to sensors and electronic parts, I heed the advice of those on this forum and use genuine Nissan parts, either from Courtesy Parts or the NissanUSA owners portal. I’m not sure if that plays into your particular problem, but it might.
I ended up with the same codes, and replaced both primary cats and upstream O2 sensors. But it never caused any drivability issues like you described. My engine did die a couple times while driving, similar to what you described. I replaced both camshaft position sensors and the crankshaft position ...
My '05 threw both of those codes at about 120K miles. I bought the Walker replacements off RockAuto (I believe there was a promotion at the time), and paid my shop a couple hundred to install them. No codes since, and given the risk of the deteriorating material getting sucked back in the cylinder a...
I went to a local window tint guy and had him match-tint the front windows to all the rear windows. For an extra $30, he ran a strip of dark tint across the top of the windshield. Money well spent.
I just replaced the door lifters with the 200lb McMaster-Carr lifters. It easily opens at least 2 more inches, and with much more force. $50 delivered for the pair of them. Easy upgrade.
I ended up splicing into the reverse light wiring right behind the taillight lense. Just be sure to solder and shrink-tube it since it is exposed to the elements somewhat. From there, I ran the power line through the rubber grommet in the body, and brought it down into the spare tire well under the ...
