on the actual piece closer to the window, there is a little hole. get a flat head place in the hole and i believe push a little up towards roof of car and twist the holder. not positive on which way to twist.

Did you remove the tires prior to paint? What kind of paint did you use, rattle can or something more professional? I'd be happy with that, if they come out as out as good as yours. If you're concerned about longevity you'd probably want them powdercoated. sorry for the delay... did not remove the ...
