Our Armada is stepped down from the global Patrol. It definitely has the right roots, but its buy in cost and modification costs are sure to be high also. I don't have the same disdain for Jeep but if I had to buy a new vehicle to replace my Pathfinder it would be a 4Runner or Grand Cherokee (trail ...

Nissan was pushing to increase their market share to 10%. To do this they had to cut down on some of the low sellers and boost the econo cars and CUV sales which are selling like hot cakes in America right now. I too loathe that Nissan has forsaken their 4x4 enthusiasts by killing the Xterra and neu...

Chris from Wavetrac emailed me the drawings of their 370z if you would like them. Its a PDF file, I am just not sure how to attach that here.

Just called Wavetrac and their Engineer is out until Tuesday at an event but they will shoot over the external dimensions and bearing offset etc for the 350z/370z carrier next Tuesday or Wednesday. I know quiafe has their drawings posted online so it might be easier to use if you have the time for t...

I have not researched the R230 swap at all. I am fairly confident the Wavetrac or Quaife will swap in the R200. I had contacted Wavetrac about a month ago for some tech specs to compare with our carrier just haven't followed up. A fellow started a thread with this idea on expedition portal (well for...

Mount Ellinor/Elbe Hills

Went exploring in the Pathy last weekend. Slept in the back at a campsite Thursday night and climbed Mount Ellinor. Definitely a must if you live in Western Washington. http://i.imgur.com/wigwlR6l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/h6op6Uel.jpg (above) Mount Rainier on the horizon (below) Mount Olympus in the d...

Have you tried putting a jack under the coil bucket? I put my floor jack under the bolt and raised the coil bucket to relieve any pinch pressure off the bolt. both of mine came out easy once I did that.

Pathfinder2012,

I just saw this and that looks great! Did you have to modify the Xterra mount besides the two holes at all to get it to fit? How many mounting points does it have to the frame?

For that price you could have a local welder/fab shop build you some. I use this for the rear and have the stock hook up front. https://www.etrailer.com/Off-Road-Accessories/MaxxTow/MT70029.html One day, when I get around to it, I will have something like Rockymountainx front recovery point, which i...

If you are getting that serious about shocks, I would measure as get something more precise as thuper mentioned. My guess is there is another vehicle out there you could get stock shocks and the appropriate amount of travel

http://performancelifts.com/bilstein-20 ... shock.html

This site has the part number as 24-197434 for up to 2" of lift. I couldn't find the technical specs but if you want longer ones I would compare off these.

The 5100s are adjustable in height but I would probably have thrown on the V8 springs since the cost is minimal. I like my ride height as my older dog would have a tough time climbing in out if I went any taller. It's tough to not just go with a 2" kit. I figure I can always scratch the itch to...

Mark me down for the AT3 as well. To Smj's point, I have LT tires on my R51 and I feel most if not every bump.

I used Monroe quick struts in the front and V8 springs w/ airlift in the rear. I ended up with 1" in the rear and about .5" in the front. The ride is more controlled than before but I wish I had used bilstein 5100s in the front for a leveled ride height.

I would also go with the 5100s front as they will give you more options. No matter spacer or springs you should get the 2" lift shocks as your wheel travel will be affected by the gained clearance. Again I would go with the springs and Airlift 1000s as this provides you the most options in the ...
