The ses light came back on my drive home - still no apparent cause - and the code is still the same: 2 slow blinks, 11 fast, 10 fast, 10 fast?

SES light came on - strange code now

So doing a casual drive over the weekend - cruising around 90kmph with the cruise on - and all of a sudden I notice the SES light is on. Nothing strange happened, no noticeable issues - but there is was. And it stayed out throughout the day and into this morning...so I finally read the code. 2 slow ...

Thanks @labsy - I've been poking around and the smell has been getting less and less so I think it was something that had come into contact with the new cats that the previous owner had replaced. The smell is almost completely gone now...however as that smell has dissipated I'm able to smell some co...

A real common area for coolant leaks is the heater hose assembly that sits on the passenger side of the firewall and has a pipe that runs behind the engine. The black plastic part of it gets brittle and cracks. Here's a link to the part: https://www.nissanpartsdeal.com/parts-list/2006-nissan-pathfi...

Was this the clamp that connects the large (1" ish) diameter hose into the aluminum curved piece? (that is wet in my pics)

Also just for reference - the smell is almost exactly the same as described by heckler40 - it's not a huge smell, but definitely noticeable when the truck is warm and you smell at the front grill or along the passenger side of the hood.

I've had my 06 for about a month now and have noticed this coolant smell at the front as well. Nothing on the ground ever, nothing wet up around the radiator, BUT when I looked behind the engine I saw that the aluminum curved part that connects to the top rad hose was a little bit damp on the top. P...

Figured I would post a reply here and let future viewers know the Hitachi sensor from Rock Auto worked - and was ~$100 less than buying one from the dealer :)

Reviving an old thread here - but figured that is better than starting a new one! I have the P0340 code and am going to replace both my sensors. I saw at least one person post having issues with the replacements from Napa. I'm looking at Rock Auto and they have a few different (non oem) options also...

Unfortunately no warranty - but I think it may be due to the recent replacement of the cats and some locktite or other residue on them. Going to have a closer look tomorrow.

Thank you all for your ideas!

I can't see anything dripping - but the previous owners recently had the cats replaced and I'm wondering if something in or around there is burning off maybe? It doesn't smell like typical oil burn... I drove it for a good while today on the highway (2wd only) and same smell came back - but not real...

slight burning rubber smell

Hi all I'm new here - just bought a 2006 Pathfinder - I took it out for a ride with the 4x4 on to test it out and noticed a slight burned rubber smell afterward. This was dry pavement, outside temp about 27 C, and I was driving around 80kmph for about 10 mins. (good news no weird vibes or any other ...
