You may want to look that radiator over close my 2006 Toyota 4Runner sprung a leek after 4 years and 170,000 miles and if your Pathy never had the radiator bypass then Frankly I would go ahead and just get a new radiator. Just my opinion...

Drove new Toy Tacoma

Waiting for my wife's Toyota Venza I drove a new Toyota Tacoma and here is my take. Tacoma loaded 4x4. Drivetrain.. I felt the V6 lacked low end grunt it tries to make up for this with a six speed automatic that seems to hunt for the best gear a bit to much. Once moving along at 50 or so it has good...

That's a really good idea! And I have a cordless drill and new wire wheel sitting on the shelf. Yes thanks for that I did not think to use it!

R51 undercarriage

As some of you know from my previous posts I am doing some work on the underside of my 2012 R51 not that it is that bad ...Yet! The problem here in Western MA is everything rusts out! My sister has a 2013 full size Chevy truck with only 8,000 miles on it and the frame already has rust on it! So I do...

I tow a 5,000 pound camper with my "12" R51 without issue. The stock trans cooler is fine just make sure you have one from the factory. Esp considering you are 2wd so you are pulling less weight anyway. Yes be smart with your shifting ... I pretty much stay out of overdrive unless going do...

Painting belly pan?

I want to paint my R51 Pathfinder's belly pan/skid plate the one with the hole for the oil filter change. (Only one on my truck) anyway I want to paint it Rustolium black since it's getting some rust and such. Is there any problem driving around for a few days without that pan on the truck? It may t...

I don't think I would want a 4 year older truck even with the V8. The only issue I know of with the V8 is the exhaust manafolds are prone to failure. Not sure if it's all years or not?

Little update I coated my rear wheel wells today with Rubberized Undercoating and it went quite well. First I washed the wells with soap and water I then let them dry then I sprayed them down with brake clean and wiped them down with a rag to remove any oil that may be on there. I used two cans of u...

R51 jack point?

Is it ok to place a jack under my rear differential and jack up the entire rear of my R51? Or is the rear diff fragile? Can I place the jack anywhere on the frame to jack up or is there jack points? I have a heavy duty 4 ton floor jack.
