Poor mans lift

Basically what alot of PF junies do to get a cheap lift is
a)crank torsion bars
b)replace rear springs with those of the front end of a jeep grand cherokee or ford

following is the link to the walkthrough.

motor swap

First, you would have to have the ecu from the doner truck. You have(like myself) the vg30i, which has a throttlebody injector. If I remember correctly the one your looking at does not(not sure if intake manifold is swapable). In a nuttshell you would need the motor, wiring harness, and ecu, and I w...

door handle

Ive done this to my 89 pathy, in a nuttshell, it requires moving the door panels. this is done by removing all accesories connected to the door panel, ie arm rest, windshield handle, etc. then with a flathead screw driver, pop little plastic rivets between door and door panel(be careful). Once the p...

Mods

Depends on what year you have. if you have an older 87-95 Pathy, its a bit difficult. for lifts there are a couple of sights online that supply them(google), they run about 1k. as for engine mod's this is a good/bad thing. I have an 89 pathy with the vg30I v6. This was a very popular engine for niss...

how to check for rca

Usually if your stereo is capable of having an alternate input you will be able to tell on your band select, ie AM,FM, FM2, CD, then you will see something like Input, or such.

also you can

purchase a reapoltery kit online, it's time consuming, but basically your seats get done the way you want. You can also hit a scrap yard and pick up new seats(well used actually) and use your rails to mount in some cases

oil eating up

I would also put your hand on the exhaust and see if it comes away oily. Unless that pathy has had a recent engine overhaul, you could be burning the oil, I would not be surprised if thats it, they are good engines, but even they get tired and worn out.

bumper/brushgaurd

First off, 90% of the ones out there are for looks, not fuctionality. If you are looking to upgrade for performance type reasons I would suggest either a beefy one meant for a winch, or a pre-runner style which has full skid plate and mounts not only to where the old bumper, but distributes front en...

take it to a mechanic

lol, I dont say that to discourage, but that was the only thing on my 89 pathy i didnt do. When i priced out the parts it would have cost me about the same as to take it to someone who specialized in it. In my case(albuquerque, nm) there is a part of town with alot of mechanics at real cheap prices....

not running right

Yes the timing belt can effect performance in a big way, assuming that your a tooth off, as well the distributor timing etc. I would set the engine to TDC, and reset everything. I would also verify you are getting good spark. I ran into this issue when i recently rebuilt my 89pathy, and it was the t...

Not a bad deal

The miles are high, but the motors are very strong. My advice is get the best looking pathy you can find, and assume it's going to need engine work lol

well thats my philosophy on all used cars.

Welcome

If you need engine work and have the cash, take it to a mechanic, but if you are like myself, a)financial strapped, b)mechanically inclined then I would rebuild it. It's a good learning experience, frustrating at times, but man the outcome is awesome. Also hit your local scarp yards for replacement ...
