Re: That much difference in clearance?

I should have been more specific. I meant in terms of production vehicles. With the exception of the H1, independent suspension has been the off-road downfall of many vehicles like our Pathfinders, 4Runners, Grand Cherokees, full sized trucks, ect. It limits the amount of lift that can be gained wi...

Re: That much difference in clearance?

You just can't get very good travel with any kind of independent suspension. Sorry, Richard, but I have to disagree. The problem is that if you have a true Baja type independent suspension, you get yourself into the non-street legal territory, although I'm sure there are still some states out there...

Thanks for the input. To be honest I wasn't bashing the 'finder. I'm not really doubting that it's capable, it's just that all the posts I've seen with pictures of off roading on the forum here have been pretty mediocre when compared to what I've seen on other forums under the off road adventures c...

does your TB spacer really work? i mean your cylinder only takes in the air it can while the valve is open so i dont really see how the spacer helps That's not the function of a TB spacer. They increase plenum volume of the intake and often have some internal feature that provides a vortex effect o...

I don't think mine has ever done it in 2wd. It's only done it in 4wd while in mud during a turn. I don't spin the rears very often other than that.

Re: 2006 Nissan 4x4 help!

I have a 06 Pathfinder and have a couple questions. I recently installed a CAI and Throttle Body Spacer and noticed that when i took off the throttle body there was a plastic grate that slid into the plastic air intake just after the throttle body. I was wondering, do I need this? its not like a fi...

Re: That much difference in clearance?

I am very happy with my 07 'finder and I'm not into off roading on such a scale as I used to be (Or I would have bought a 4Runner, Land Cruiser or Land Rover). But, it seems like the R51 is not designed to do any real off roading. Just after looking at many pages of posts regarding mudding and off ...

Not sure who makes it as it came with the vehicle, but most of them are the same. Mine has an extra bracket for the winch to sit in and mount to the frame. http://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu178/volvite/Pathfinder/SDC12232.jpg http://i645.photobucket.com/albums/uu178/volvite/Pathfinder/SDC12238.j...

does anyone know what skid plates are crucial for doing some light offroading? i noticed courtesy parts has front under, center under, engine under, etc. which ones are most essential to buy? There are times that you may need them all depending on the type of wheeling you do. The engine and transfe...

Another Oklahoma Wheeling Video

This is some video of us doing a little off-roading last Saturday near McCurtain, OK. I did not get a lot of the stuff I wanted due to technical difficulties. First, I ran out of tape and did not know it until we were through with the trail. Next, my improvised camera mount got flimsy and I ended up...

Very cool. Nice pics. Looks like some of the stuff we went thru this weekend. Saturday morning we were busting thru water/mud holes that had about 3" of ice on them. I was concerned about cutting a tire or damaging something underneath the truck. I will be doing some more underbody armor when ...
