I think body lifts are fine for fitting bigger tires, I wouldn't go bigger than 2"s though. That said, if you can fit your tires currently I would look at aftermarket bumpers front and rear to cure your "overhang." Body lifts do raise COG and weaken the frame to body connection. These...
