Heater Hose Assembly, Broken Connector, Broken Nipple.

There are a few posts across the internet addressing this problem, and even a couple on this site. I found them, and they were very helpful, but thought adding my own might help another unfortunate soul. If your Pathfinder is leaking antifreeze or coolant from the connectors near the firewall, on th...

Same problem, similar fix (photos)

2008 SE dumped coolant all over road, fortunately close to home. Found the same broken connector. In attempt to diagnose problem further, went to remove the hose that comes up and out of assembly, broke the nipple holding that one in place, too. Faced with a $250 part, plus time for delivery and rep...

As a follow up, I bought both a new thermostat and a temp sensor. I removed there thermostat and it was obviously broken, stuck open. Replacing it fixed all of my issues so I haven't installed the new temp sensor. I previously had sir in the system, but had no trouble refilling the cooling system th...

The #40 work fine.

It opens quick, but isn't difficult to close. Less is probably fine, but the 40# on the rear glass work just fine.

Rear Liftgate, Rear Glass Replacements

Went with #225 McMaster springs over a year ago, been very happy. I live at 3,500 feet and enjoy skiing, so I was happy to finder a stronger strut for the lift gate. In the summer, it does have a bit of force, but its been fine. Ordered #40 springs for the glass today. I see that most use the #30 Mc...

P0128 code (Thermostat or Temp Sensor) on 2008 Path

Our 2008 Pathfinder (4.0L) threw this code yesterday. After reading the code and learning that it indicates the temperature of the engine is not rising to operating level, I drove a bit for further diagnosis. As you would expect, the temp gauge never rises more than slightly above the "cold&quo...

Slamming (eieio)

The stronger struts don't seem to help much with slamming. Once you get to the last couple inches, the angle that the struts are at prevent them from doing much. But because you have to pay a little more attention to close it, you are less likely to slam it. I'd say the benefit as to "slamming&...

225# McMaster Experience

Just put the 225# McMaster Struts on my rear hatch. It was as simple as people described. I recruited my wife to hold the door up while I put on the new struts. I thought about taking video and pictures for others. But, really, it is simple enough that you shouldn't need much instruction. For those ...

2008 Pathfinder SE in SLC, Utah. After market radiator?

So far, loving my used Pathfinder. 56,000 miles. I've read the basics regarding the radiator/transmission concern. I will certainly consider the bypass "fix" or an aftermarket radiator around 80K miles. A couple questions, if someone has answers. 1. Any advice on a brand/model for aftermar...
