Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

Got the Pathfinder back today. Had the PRG 1 1/2 In front and rear aluminum spacers installed. I like the look and the extra ground clearance. I already had the Moog 81119 Springs in the rear. Re the alignment, toe is in spec all around. No problem. Two things are out of spec 1. Castor is at 1.8 lef...

Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

The Pathfinder actually does not have a center locking diff in any of their models. The 4runners have it in certain models. Doesn't mean that the R51 isn't any less capable though. Hey silverarrow27. May be a pleasant surprise for you. Your 2011 Nissan Pathfinder LE V8 4X4 in your signature does in...

Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

palmerwmd, I am in South East Florida. Fort Lauderdale area. But we also have property in the Appalachians and love to do what I would call moderate off roading/back country camping there. Overlanding in today's terms I suppose. We bought the Pathfinder new in 2011 as my wife's DD. She loved it then...

Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

Thanks, ShipFixer. That helps. I am going with the 1 1/2 in PRG lift front and rear. I will leave my existing Moog 81119 springs in place. So I will have about 1 1/2 inch lift in the front, and about 2 inch lift in the rear (the 81119's gave me about 1/2 inch lift once they settled out). Yeah, I am ...

Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

The Moog 81119 (4WD rear) springs are 353 lbs/inch, and the 81280 (4WD front) springs are 450 lbs/inch. Moog lists the 81280's as replacements for all three truck types in 4WD varieties. All of the lift springs I can find start around 480 lbs/inch and work their way up. There's a ton of conjecture ...

Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

I also spoke with PRG Products. They sell the Pathfinder Bilstein Extended Rear 4600 Shocks that support up to a 2 inch lift. It has to be part #24-197434 to support the 2 inch lift. That's what I have. That's a very credible source, so I am going with the 2 inch lift using these shocks.

Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

FYI - These guys say you can do up to a 2 inch lift with the Bilstein 4600 Rear Shocks that I have installed. The 24-197434.

Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

Yeah, I was talking about the front when I was talking about bottoming out. With a strut extension spacer, up-travel is restricted when the shock assembly bottoms out earlier. Down travel over extension can be an issue as well. It seemed to us like 1 inch would be no problem. Of course, we could be ...

Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

Had the truck on the lift at the shop yesterday for a tire repair. My mech put it up on the lift for us to look at the geometry and shock lengths & travel. We both came to the conclusion that a 1 in spacer should be no problem. 2 inch would be pushing it and would probably bottom out the shock.a...

Re: Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

Thanks, Silverarrow. Not the answer I wanted, but pretty much in line with what I have been finding. Another thing I am finding - many people just do a mild lift and don't even think about the shocks. Seems like less than 2 inches and many people just don't care, or aren't worried about it because t...

Any/Max Lift with Bilstein 4600 Shocks?

A couple of years ago, I replaced the factory shocks on my 2011 LE 4X4. The common suspension/rust issues were addressed at the time, or shortly thereafter when alignment issues became obvious. I ended up with the moog 81119 rear springs, and the Bilstein 4600's all around (and a bunch of new suspen...

Re: Bose Subwoofer Speaker replacement How-to

Yeah, my first approach was to just purchase two new subs from Bose. But they wouldn't sell them to me and don't sell them anymore. I spoke with three different people at Bose. In the end they referred me to the Nissan Dealer. It turns out that I saved a lot of money by Bose not wanting to take my m...

Re: Bose Subwoofer Speaker replacement How-to

Thanks. I appreciate the offer. It turns out that I found a relatively local speaker repair shop. South Florida Speaker Repair Inc. Their website is speaker saver - https://www.speakersaver.com/ It was a 40 minute drive from my place. Seemed legit over the phone. Turns out that the shop is in an old...
