Got new tire today. My friend works for Discount tire, I original wanted Goodyear Duratacs in 265 70 17. After him doing a search for them he called back up to tell me that Goodyear stopped production of them and the only sizes left in stock at for 16" or 18" rims. So I picked up 265 70 17 BFG A/T in 10ply. for a good $ I could not pass up. post pics soon _________________ At one time, I was the Nissan Path Admin.

Don't know where you're buying, but Discount Tire here will give you a trade-in allowance on an essentially new tire. I swapped my Generals for Michilens three days after I bought my new '06 LE, and they gave me $300 for the four on the ground (kept the spare). _________________ '06 Pathfinder V6 LE 2WD

Took it for a nice ride today after getting them installed. Very ncie, it also improved my MPG and fixed the incorrect speedo problem I was having from Nissan using the 16" rim calibrations on the 17" rim. I'm happy to be back in a BFG tire. _________________ At one time, I was the Nissan Path Admin.

You're never going to have problems with a 10 ply. I have 8 plys on mine and even they are overkill. On the other hand, we did both a Death Valley and a Sedona trip this year and the BFG's never complained. I've had 7 sets of BFG A/Ts over the past 25 years and I've never had a single problem no matter how hairy the trail. _________________ 2008 Pathfinder S 4x4

This is my 3rd set of A/t's from BFG as well. The others were 31x10.50r15. they rode like giant balloons and had softer walls. But with this 17" and 265/70 the side wall is smaller and alot thicker. I will get pics of the tires and the wheel wells. The just fit with about 2" of clearance. _________________ At one time, I was the Nissan Path Admin.

This is the only one on my computer. My 11 year old son is the budding photographer and has all the photos. He won a prize at the fair with this one.
This is in the narrows of Titus Canyon in Death Valley. _________________ 2008 Pathfinder S 4x4

Those are 265/75/16, the factory SE-Off Road size, mounted on the factory rim. I had the little 245/75/16 Generals from the factory, which tore on another desert trip. The BFGs haven't even scuffed. _________________ 2008 Pathfinder S 4x4

I rod eon BFG ATs and did not like them at all for my usage. I mean there are ok in th emountains and some mud or rocks, but I didn't lik ethem at all in the city, especially in rain. I though I was breaking on ice few times when I tried to stop in the rain.
Runnin on Yoko Geolandars G012 now and found that it is very good tire in rocks, sand and snow. not very good in very muddy terrains. great in the city. rainy weather is not an issue anymore. The only problem I encountered was that the side walls are not very tough. I punctured mine when was trying to get out of a small rocky river in the mountains. The car slided sideways a bit and hit the rock not really hard and there it was _________________ 05 Pathfinder LE, US spec, OME 2" lift springs, 3mm steel skid plates, 275x65x17 Geolanadars G012, ranchos came and gone, bilstein shocks to come |

Last night went to the local fishing hole, We had rain for the last 3 days and the trail around the lake was solid mud. The A/T pulled right through the 3-4" of mud. _________________ At one time, I was the Nissan Path Admin.

Are there any tire dealers on this forum that offer deals to members? The BFG A/T's are great tires. I had a pair of 35x12.5 on my CJ7. I was impressed with the handling on and off road. |
