Front end shimmy

Postby Ramnm08 » Fri Sep 03, 2010 1:15 pm

I just recently bought my 05 Pathfinder LE with 65k on it. I have a couple of issues and need some suggestions. The front end has a shimmy at 60 and up. Its more noticable when you sit in the back seats. Occassionally you can feel it in the steering wheel. Second is the TPMS light comes on after about 30 to 40 miles. I was thinking of having the TPMS disabled since those damn sensors cost so much. The dealership replaced the right rear sensor, balanced the tires and aired them up to 35 and it still shakes. I'm going to take it back to them so they can fix it but I wanted to see if any of you guys have had either of these issues.

welcome to the forum :)
regarding the shimmy, alignment comes to mind
also be sure that tires, shocks, and springs are in good shape
are your tires & wheels the OEM sizes?

Tires are stock size and have been road force balanced. Im gonna put it up on the jack today  and check all of the ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, etc....

My brake rotors were warped so bad id get a shimmy at highway speeds, but you would notice that when stopping.
