I run stock suspension, nearly blown out rear shocks, and the airlift. As far as I'm concerned, this thing is rock solid. And the roads up here suck because of the extreme cold in winter.

Your issues (and livers) seem to point at something specific to your truck.

Pulled a 6x12 enclosed 2,500# trailer today. Took the airlift up to 20psi (a bit much empty....) and it overall felt pretty good. I really can't see 5,500# feeling rock solid but sway control and WD would probably go along way. Last time I pulled this trailer I didn't have the airlift or the Bilsteins and I wasn't overly impressed. I basically had no squat when the trailer was hooked up. Power to maintain 70mph is great even up some pretty steep hills. Getting caught up in some slower traffic and then trying to accelerate back to 70mph.......eh not so much!
