Steering Wheel Mod

Postby gurv211 » Tue Jan 24, 2012 1:26 pm

hey guys

I've got an 07 pathy LE, with the wholee bose setup. Recently, I've had the idea of replacing the steering wheel from an 08 Nissan path LE to get heated steering wheel. If any one knows some one or has attempted it I would like some direction on this?

Graphite
Part Number of the wheel ? Will the Airbag plug be the same? and can i use the steering wheel controls from my current wheel?

Thanks in advance!

I would just wear gloves, I know it is little help but I would think owning a 07 LE as well that the job is not that straight forward.

Playing with airbags is not that sensible.

I would think it would be hard to find a steering to install. If you can find one in a junkyard, the airbag is likely to be deployed. Not to mention swapping steering wheels on a newer model vehicles is quite a task. Another vote for wearing gloves.

I think the big issue would be the wiring; since heated steering wasn't available in 07, the vehicle would not be wired for it. You would also need the clockspring to be compatible. You would not only need the steering wheel, but the relay and the heated steering switch, as well.
