When are you swapping shocks/struts?

Postby BattleWagon » Sun Jul 01, 2012 9:37 pm

I have the off-road so it comes with Ranchos, I'm at 80k and wondering when most have replaced struts. I have the Airlift 1000s, so it's still pretty tight but I really want to try a set of 5100s.......

If you plan on keeping the Pathfinder for a while longer, I'd say replace them now. It isn't too expensive to do so, and you might really like the difference. Problem with shocks is they either fail at once, or they gradually fail over time. Yours could be pretty shot already, but you wouldn't notice it because it has been a gradual/subtle change.

I just replaced mine with the Rancho Quicklift front and XL9000 in the rear with the spacers at 93k miles. It made a huge difference and have not looked back on the decision.
