fast tire inflator?

Postby doctahjones » Tue Oct 02, 2012 8:17 pm

don't have a winch/bumper, and not sure about mounting one inside the engine comp. i do have 12v battery power available off a power distro block i put in right ahead of my after market amp that's mounted under the 2nd row.

so, to get to the point, i'm looking to see if anyone has purchased something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Goodyear-i7000-12 ... B001D5HP40
and how it -really- works with larger off road type tires, not just the 185/14in tires they list as being able to air up in 3 minutes.

i'd prefer just a CLA type, but if it needs dedicated wired power i can probably do that. i'm not exactly looking to air up my off road tires in 3 minutes, but just something that doesn't take like 1min per 1lb of inflation like i currently have.

also not looking for something that's over $100.

i've had a bushranger for close to 4 years now and runs great.
inflates to 30 PSI in 2 minutes

if u want *really* quick, get a scuba tank, and a hose with valve converter.

I am going to buy a Q Industries one:

or maybe a model or two higher.

My old one burnt out after a year of light duty. It topped up tires maybe 20 times. It was not cheap either. It burnt out despite having a hefty heat sink and cooling fan. It did not run for more than 5min at a time.

Don't buy this!

yeah i ended up buying that q industries one (or maybe it was another label, but looks exactly the same).

works pretty well. only problem is if you clamp it to the battery it just barely reaches to the drivers side rear. i have some extra heavy duty cable that i'm going to 'extend' the battery clamp cable with.
