When will the next Pathfinder redesign happen?

Postby chadh » Wed Apr 16, 2008 9:22 am

Hi all, sorry for the newbie question. I did a search and couldn't find a mention of this, but I'm thinking of getting a new SE V6 Pathfinder. I'm about ready to sign on the dotted line, but I hate to get a vehicle if a new redesign is coming out soon (yes, I'm one of those people). I assume it won't be for 2009 at least or I would have heard about it. Anyone know when the current Pathfinder might be redesigned?

Thanks in advance!

They just did the little cosmetic update with the my08, so not for a few more years.

Even if a redesign was coming out, you'd be best waiting at-least an additional full model year before signing on that line. Too many bugs to work out typically in the first model year of a big change. And many times the 2nd model year is only marginally better. So if you are ok waiting 2-3 more years then skip it.

But do some searching around this site. The next incarnation of Pathfinder is potentially (or maybe for sure) going to be of uni-body construction as opposed to the body on frame that it is now. Depending on your requirements this may or may not matter to you.

Appreciate the input, folks! I'm now just deciding between a used 2005 and a new 2008.

I didn't find the price discrepancy big enough to warrant buying used. With the factory rebate and the Costco deal, it didn't seem that much more just to buy a new one, which we did.

The next Pathfinder is a few years off and may be lighter duty:
