Need to Replace a Fusible Link

Postby blemas » Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:14 pm

2005 Pathfinder: I grounded out the terminal for the electric brake harness and blew out the 30A portion of the blue (50-30-40) fusible link. I have a new one on order but when I was testing the fuses, I tried to pull it out (not too aggressively) and realized that it was really in there good. I have heard that they are attached with small screws and also that they just pull out like a normal fuse would. Which is it? I know that I will find out when the replacement arrives but I am curious now!

Also, when replacing this item, do I need to disconnect the battery? Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

The older Nissans had them bolted in, but the later models just pushed in. Your's should just pull out and push in, IIRC. If it's the push in type, there's no need to disconnect the battery, but you should on the bolt in types.
