Intervals of Clunking and squeaking

Postby Sf49168 » Wed Oct 02, 2013 2:54 pm

How's it going?? I have a 2008 path Se and I seem to be getting clunking noises coming from the front passenger side when I turn wheel all the way to the left mostly. I Also get some squeaks from same area if I go over certain bumps. They both don't Happen on the regular but not sure what it could be

A mechanic said possible ball joints but he checked an there was no play. I do have a Warrenty since I bought used dealer said they didn't hear anything. Thank god they didn't charge me the $118 fee to look

Any ideas ?

Thanks alot !!

It's worth checking the condition of your front body mounts - mounts that hold the frame and body of the vehicle together. You can access them by pulling away fender liners on the front. These wear out and will clunk ( sometimes squeak) when going over bumps at small speed. There is a thread about somewhere on the forum.

also check your sway bar bushings
also try a forum search for the key words: squeak, clunk, bushings, mounts, etc

For the squeak, make sure it's not the hood latch issue. It's very hard to tell where that squeak noise comes from but easy fix...wrap some electrical tape around the strike and it will stop immediately.
