95/96 Won't Shift Wont Move Clutch or ??

Postby Sonny Jim » Tue Dec 23, 2014 7:30 am

I say 95 cause thats what it looks like but titled as 96 so ??

Anywho, got it from my friends son, the clutch was going but he kept driving it, then one day it just stopped moving. Now I would think even with clutch gone if you treid to shift you would get grinding or something, but this goes into all gears smooth , but will not move, Checked transfer case and it is gear..Is this a clutch ( have old worked on old Ford ,GM clutch es so thought this being newer may be different ? )

Thanks

It's a WD21, so it's a 95. The R50 model began in 96. If the clutch is completely wiped, you won't get any grinding. Replace your clutch assy. and stick with a quality manufacturer, i.e. genuine Nissan, Valeo or Exedy are popular choices.

Very cool, Thanks

Was worried it might be something more.

Any updates? I had a similar problem when I bought my 1987. I replaced the clutch, and put it all back together only to find out that it was the transmission that was shot. Swapped it out for another used manual and its worked fine since then.
