I have a 2012 as well and from what I read and advice from a real good service guy I trust it should not be an issue. However he noted that since I use my Pathy to tow it would not be a bad idea to replace the radiator above the 100,000 mark its just cheep insurance.

'11 & '12 model years are not affected by the cooler failure issue or earlier models.

I'm at 130k and haven't had any issues yet (knock on wood).

But I'm getting worried something will happen soon seeing as our R51 is our choice car for roadtrips since its more comfortable and better on gas then my old Bimmer.

How do you do this bypass? I've read its safe, esp in warmer areas. But I've also read that its not safe if you tow. I do occasionally pull a trailer, nothing heavy...just a single axle with no more then 2-3k lbs on it.

05-07 bypass is really easy. It's just a matter of re-routing the factory cooler hoses at the bottom of the radiator. There should be something is this thread that shows how to do it. I wouldn't be surprised if there are several YouTube vids showing it, as well, if not for the Pathy, then for the Frontier. It's all the same.

Actually just found a really good write up. I'm doing it this weekend.
