Proud new owner of a 2006 Pathfinder T-Spec 2.5dci

Postby Kael2001 » Fri Feb 26, 2016 5:51 pm

Hi guys,
Now I've actually got the car I thought I'd join and introduce myself.

I'm the proud new owner of an awesome 2006 T-Spec 2.5 dci
This forum was the source of some invaluable info when looking to buy a Pathfinder so I'm hoping to give back by documenting all the work I do to it, from simple maintenance to more complicated mods...

She's a beauty even with 140k on the clock!

I'm in the UK so we have slightly different spec names.. It's T-spec, which is the top line one nav screen half leather etc.

To post a pic, you just need a (free) photo bucket account (or any other direct link hosting site)
Then press the IMG button, copy your link and press the button again

This is the interior:

A t-spec is prob equal to my LE.. Top of the line w Nav also..interior looks good..Ive used a leather conditioner for the seats to help with the wrinkles and it helps keep them clean and the leather from drying out..I've posted alittle info on mine..new owner from jersey..on some tid bits as I've had mine for a few months now..totally weird seeing the steering wheel on the other side!..how's she ride?

I've only had it just over a week, so haven't had a chance to treat the leather, will do tho!
It rides great, few little niggles but I'm going to get to them in time lol

First things first is the trans cooler bypass, drop all the fluids. Changed the fuel filter already.
Once I've got the engine tip top, then I'll start on the exterior mods

What about you?

I was wondering about your radiator..is it an original Nissan part #?..you've got 140 on the clock way past the due point from what I've read..has it been changed already?..original trans with no problems?.. maybe ya got lucky..My LE had its' 2nd radiator at 56k and I've just put in another at 94k just to be sure! Don't want a 6 grand repair bill...plugs need to be done and the plugs alone cost 80$, NGKs..Still trying to upload the pics, I'll get to it..

It's the original rad from new.
From what I've heard it's 'mostly' US ones that fail, as ours are built in Spain.
But just in case, as there have been a few over here that have failed I'm doing the bypass anyway!
Thankfully diesel doesn't have the plug problem ;)

Hi kael,

Nice ride. I just bought a pathy also and read a lot about the radiator problems in the US models. What action are you taking?

I'm doing the trans cooler bypass that other members have done and discussed in depth lol

There's a detailed walk through here
