Perfect switch for those empty console slots

Postby admisgd » Tue Nov 09, 2010 10:37 pm

After a long time of searching I have found a switch that just pops into the dash and looks pretty
close to a factory switch. I am working on a carputer build and one of the first things I needed to'
install was the Nav2go system like the one mentioned on the board serveral times.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... SI:US:1123
it comes with a pretty simple switch that does not look like it belongs at all.

I wanted something that looked like a factory switch and this is what I found

after you remove the blank it pops into the empty slot with no trimming or cutting involved.

the finished product looks like this

sorry for the poor pics all I had was my phone.

I don't want to post a direct link for the switch because I don't know the rules on the board
about posting outside links, but feel free to PM me if anyone is interested.

it's for a scion but fits perfect they also have it available in several light up versions. Took me forever to find something that did not involve some form of trimming. I could not be happier with the fit.

Very cool, thanks for posting that. I think I'll grab a couple of the lighted LED ones to use with my off road lights. I googled the switch & there are a number of other sources, at least for the non-lighted variety.

Holy crap, that's what I'm talking about! You've used these in the Pathfinder? How snug of a fit is it?

EDIT: Finally found the specs & it shows the same 1.45 x .83 as the other ones, so I'm going to assume they fit.

Hey, would you happen to be able to enlighten me as to how you got the blank out? Did you have to disassemble the whole console?
