2006 pathfinder with multiple misfires

Postby pudgie » Tue Jul 26, 2016 9:16 am

i have a 2006 pathfinder has 160 k on it,it showes multiply misfires ,we done the test on the door switch to check the ipdm box and it checked out good, it runs and starts good ,but wont go over 20 mph, took it to nissan dealer in richmond ky and they kept putting us off for three weeks saying they had no clue and they couldnt get to it, so could anyone suggest anything to us? does anyone know how to check the fuel pressure on it?

You need a fuel pressure gauge that T's in between the fuel rail and fuel line at the front of the fuel rail on the driver's side. You'll need the correct tool to disconnect the fuel line from the rail. Fuel pressure should be 51 PSI.
Are there any? Have the spark plugs ever been replaced and are they the correct ones?
You could download the factory service manual to help you isolate the problem. You'll need the engine control (EC) chapter, which you can likely find in the knowledge base at NissanHelp.com. You can get a full manual download at Nico Club's site.
