2002 Fender on a 2001 Possible?

Postby twistedtrick » Thu Sep 22, 2016 12:09 pm

When I bought my 2001 both fenders had a decent amount of bubbled rust, and now I would like to replace both of them. The junkyard has 2002 fenders but not 2001.

Can anyone confirm if the 2002 (or other years?) fenders are fully interchangeable and will fit my 2001?

Thank you!

From 12/98 through the 2004 model years, there were two fenders: XE trim, which had no fender flares bolted to them (thus no bolts holes in the for the flares), and the SE/LE trim fenders, which had fender flares (thus, holes in the fender required to bolts on the fender flares). FYI, Rockauto.com has brand new fender for $32 each plus shipping.

Thank you for the detailed answer. Would I have a local body shop handle painting those parts, or can Rockauto deliver the parts painted? Sorry if this is an amateur question - I have zero experience with this!

You would have to have your body shop paint them. Rockauto is only a parts seller.
