From Europe with love

Hi everybody :)

It's been few months since I bought my first Pathy, 2006 year LE edition with auto transmission and 2.5 dCi engine. It's great rig and as I registered it as a duty vehicle, yearly registration costs are really low (at least in my country).

I started upgrading practically as soon as I got it, changed all liquids, cleaned all sensors, pipes, air intake manifold, carbonized it etc. Popped up some temporary (but still quite nice) DRL, which I wired to switch off during side marker is lit, so it's quite nice lightning effect :)

Removed EGR actuator rod, remapped ECU and added HHO injection with some sporty-like air filter, so horse stables increased from 174 to 235 HP to render jump start real jump.

With new GoodYear Duratracs 265/70-R17 and partial BullBar with spot light I must say it looks quite nice.

Nice ride to the mountains on a sunny snowy day. Grabs through snow like a tank, just be aware of some hidden obstacles...

...like here, where I drove into 1m (3 feet) of compacted snow bank right into quite deep water trench. Luckily snow plowing tractor just passed by and my kinetic recovery rope lost virginity.

More impressive ride at motocross track threatens to prioritize offroading before sex :)) My wife hardly awaiting end of snowy season.

Here's my install of HHO injection and sporty air filter...which I do not recommend due to really hissy loudy rattely whisteling turbine sound, like a sneezing lion on viagra after a good meal.

And finally, here's how to log with Pathfinder, hehe  Total weight was just above 4 tone mark (approx. 9000 lb) and despite of really low MPG and still comfortable ride and acceleration, it was like a train when comes to stopping. Pushing brake pedal to the floor made me feel like Flintstones... :?

I wish we got the diesels in North America. Friend of mine has a different car, but with that same engine. Mileage is muuuuuuch better!

I know this is an older thread but I was interested in the engine mods you did to your pathy. I just recently purchased a 2007 Aventura spec automatic and was wanting to do the same as you for the mpg/hp increase. Is there a write up on any of this? Also how difficult was it to do the "clean-up" job i.e. I take manifold? I'm new to euro diesels but fairly handy and competent with anything mechanical. Thanks!
