Nervous About Control Arm Rust

Postby flat6symphony » Thu Jan 05, 2017 8:42 am

What do you guys think about my rear control arms? I'm at 170,000 miles and plan on replacing them soon. Just curious about the urgency of this.

You should see mine, that get a salt bath every day from November to March.

You have nothing to worry about, just surface rust there.

I think they look pretty normal. I don't see anything that would create a safety concern.

No issue there you should have seen the ones on my 06 Toyota 4Runner I'm with disallow we here in Western MA get a salt bath for several winter months car rust is a major issue here. I have about the same rust on my underside of my R51 as yours and mine is a 2012 and frankly it looks much better then my Toyota looked after only two years! It's just surface rust don't worry about it sleep well at night.

Well alright, good news. Thanks for the help.

I guess I overreacted about the rust, just excuse the southern here, I don't usually see too much rust on my vehicles.
