2011 Pathfinder LE Clock resets once car is shut off

Postby ctbassist » Mon Jul 21, 2014 9:24 am

I have a 2011 Pathfinder LE with Bose (no nav) and I set the time zone to EST and the Time to the correct time and hit back to get to the start screen and when the vehicle is shut down it resets to GMT and an hour behind me (I am EST)

It also does not remember the settings for the radio (bass, treb, fade, etc)

HELP!

Most Nissans usually have an extended storage fuse, usually 7.5 amps. I'm not 100% positive, but I "believe" the one for the R51 is in the IPDM in the engine compartment. That would be the first thing I'd check.

Thanks!

Is there anywhere I can get a fuse panel map or layout online? The owners manual is useless and when looking under the hood the abbreviations do not make any sense to me. I don't want to pull every fuse out to check it, but if that's the only way, I will

I had a clock issue, the radio needed to be replaced.

You don't have to pull any fuses if you have a 12v. test light. Just check for power going across it. There are only a few 7.5A fuses. As far as an online diagram, you might check the free repair guides at Autozone.com or NissanHelp.com's knowledge base. There are also downloadable service manuals available.

I'm curious to know if you found a solution. I'm starting to have this happen intermittently. I would think it's a fuse problem if it happened each time the car was turned off. The truck has not had any troubles starting up so I'm ruling out a battery/battery terminal issue. At this point, it's more of an annoyance than anything. Reprogramming clock and fav stations takes but a couple of minutes. I've tried to take note of any obvious patterns that might shed light as to what may be causing this (weather temp, parked on incline, etc) but haven't observed any. I did notice the other day that my battery gauge was moving up and down while at idle. Perhaps I need a new battery or maybe a grounding issue? Any thoughts? Thanks for looking!

The non-navi Bose HU in my 2010 SE is also doing exactly the same things as the OP's radio. My battery is brand new. The Dealer checked all the fuses, confirmed that the truck does not have the battery saver switch, and unsuccessfully tried to fix it with software upgrades. They say I need a new unit. :x

There are places that repair Nissan Bose radios. Just Google "Nissan Bose Radio repair" and you should get a few hits. Bose Corp. services them, as well, but I would imagine it would be more costly. That is if you want to stick with the factory radio.

My bose on my 2008 loses about 10 minutes on the clock every month or so. Is this the same issue or different?

generally speaking, would the fuse replacement, and if necessary, a head unit replacement be under warranty for a certified pre-owned pathfinder? i dont mind taking care of a fuse, but if i need a new head unit, I'd prefer not shell out major bucks if i dont have to.
