97 path repair help

Postby 91civichat » Wed Mar 15, 2017 5:28 pm

So I'm looking into getting this 97 pathfinder that has a bad head its the 3.3 and the guy has a 93 3.0 also could it just be swapped in or use parts off it? Or would it be best to find another motor?

The 3.0 and 3.3L heads are different. The 3.0L uses smaller exhaust manifold studs and has a different cam and there may be some other differences that I can't remember off the top of my head. You could get a remanufactured head.
There are some parts that you may be able to use off of the 3.0L, depending on what your needs are. Some people looking for more horsepower (at the expense of some torque) swap out the 3.3L camshafts for 3.0 cams.
If you do want to go with another motor, VG33E engines aren't too hard to find.
